Colored tiles are the magnet tiles that that my pieces attach to. The door wall panel is a thicker panel that doesn't attach to a magnet tile. The panel on the left is used for inner corners.
Example Layout
I came across the idea of using magnetic tile toy sets to build quick sci-fi interiors for miniature wargaming. Some people were even adding details and painting them. I decided to take it a step further by 3D printing custom detailed panels designed to snap directly onto the tiles. It makes assembling modular spaceship and space station interiors super fast and flexible.
While I’m still fine-tuning the design and running test prints, I wanted to render some simple scenes for my portfolio. These beauty renders were done in Blender and I modeled some ceiling panels with lights to complete the scene. Since the final physical panels are only 3x3 inches, I intentionally exaggerated the scale of the mechanical details so they’ll pop once printed.
The miniatures scattered throughout the scenes are 3D printable minis from One Page Rules.
